A special hello to all of you who attended today’s workshops at Ośrodek Rozwoju Edukacji

What’s one of the favourite parts of my job? Without a doubt leading teacher training for state school teachers and getting to meet all of you who work so hard at the chalkface (actually for most of you it would now be the marker penface or IWBface!).

Many of the activities you took part in today will be on the blog in the near future, so keep logging on. I would really like to hear how the activities work with your classes and any adaptations you make.

Jon Green led the first session this morning about online resources for bi-lingual science classes.  Here are some of the websites he showed you. Let us know which ones you find particularly useful.

- Category 1 – Educational Institutions e.g BBC  bitesize

- Category 2 – Museums and Galleries e.g. The Science Museum

- Category 3 – Interactive Online Experiments e.g. Chrome Web Lab

- Category 4 – Materials Publisher e.g. Houghton Mifflin Science

- Category 5 – Websites that link to other websites e.g. School Science

- Category 6 – Online e-learning and lectures

- Category 7 – Online dictionary and thesaurus

Beata Mikołajewska led the second session on useful online resources for teaching for PET for schools exam.  Many of the resources can be adapted for other levels and age groups.  One of the resources she mentioned, Premier Skills, I’d highly recommend using for project work.  it is usually a hit with some students who don’t enjoy the ‘normal’ English content.

With best wishes,

We liked it a lot and this kind of experience will definitely be useful :)
Thank you

I have a practice at school to share with knowledge gained during the workshops or conferences. It looks like that:–y5Y/pub

Hello everyone! Hope you enjoyed your day on Tuesday and that you are discovering interesting activities with your Science links. Please click on these links as there are some great new resources (Categories 6 and 7) to add to the ones I gave during the workshop.
